The Elk Rapids Area Historical Society is a major historical resource in the Elk Rapids area community. We welcome donations that allow us to fulfill our mission to explore the past, understand the present, and envision the future. We do not receive government or taxpayer assistance. Our income is derived entirely from membership dues, donations, and grants.

The Elk Rapids Area Historical Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization, Federal Tax ID: 38-2405194. Donations are tax-deductible in accordance with IRS laws.

Note: Changes to IRS tax laws starting in 2026 allow taxpayers to deduct donations to 501c3 organizations even if the taxpayer does not itemize their deductions. $1,000 for single filers and $2,000 for joint filers.
