The Leelanau
Historical Museum inspires people to explore the past,
understand the present and envision the future of the diverse cultures in its peninsula
and its islands. Exhibits tell Leelanau's stories and highlight traditional and fine arts.
The Museum Store sells distinctive and handmade gifts. OPEN ALL YEAR. 203 Cedar Street, one block east of M-22, on the

Empire Area Museum Center has four buildings containing
turn-of-the-century memorabilia & displays: blacksmith shop, Empire Lumber Co.;
maritime and railroad; horse-drawn equipment, early gas station, bookstore and a genealogy
file. Located 3 blks. north of intersection of M-22 and M-72 in Empire. Open daily
summers, 1 to 5pm, closed Wednesdays. Donations
