Michigan has more lighthouses than any other state. Our “jewels of light” shine brightly again with the groups now taking on their preservation. Sally will start with a brief lighthouse history, the National Lighthouse Preservation Act, deaccessioning of lights by the US Coast Guard, the groups taking on the lights and the challenges they face and the kinds of preservation taking place around the state. Then, most importantly, she'll take us on a tour around the State and tell us about all of the “Ladies” of the Lights.
